Swami Dayanand made his first attempt on social reforms by establishment of gurukuls or Vedic schools. These schools were highly focused on Vedic values and culture to its students. This initiative represented the first practical application of Swami’s vision of social reforms. Students were introduced with the concept of Sandhya every evening. This introduced a social regeneration in terms of Vedic culture in India. Swami Dayanand, through schools wanted to abolish hereditary and uplift the masses by means of education. SKS Educational Trust is the result of this reform. SKS Group of Institutions was established in the year 2008 with a view to cater the demand of job oriented higher education and it has been playing a vital role in human resource development by creating trained man power, enhancing industrial productivity and improving quality of life. The Group is also running many prestigious educational institutions especially for school going children in United States of America. To add another feather in the cap of institution, a coeducational college has been opened up to degree classes having Arts, Science and Commerce streams for serving society, particularly the rural area on the pattern of DAV Colleges. Adopting the ideals as set by Swami Dayanand, founder of Arya Samaj, assimilating the traditional and modern culture, this high seat of learning will be going to enlighten the lives of thousands of students for years. The tree of knowledge in the form of SKS Educational Trust has been planted to eradicate the darkness of ignorance and to develop a scientific attitude among students.
